5th Amendment
The fifth amendment states:
- that you can not be held in jail indefinitely you must be told the charges against you right away
- grand jury determines if there is sufficient evidence for a trial if so than a indictment can be issued
- prohibits double jeopardy: states that you can not be tried for the same crime twice
Pleading the fifth gives you the right to not testify against yourself
- arrest process must be fair
