1st Amendment
In the first amendment we have the 5 basic freedoms that we have as citizens, which are the freedom of religion, the freedom of speech, the freedom of the press, the freedom of assembly and the freedom of petition.
1. Freedom of speech: The First Amendment says that people have the right to speak freely without government interference. For example the people can state their own political beliefs.
2. Freedom of the Press: The First Amendment gives the press the right to publish news, information and opinions. This also means people have the right to publish their own newspapers, newsletters, magazines, and political positions.
3. Freedom of Assembly: The First Amendment says that people have the right protest with a permit, parade with a permit in a nonviolent manner.Freedom of Religion: The First Amendment prohibits government from establishing a religion and protects right to practice (or not practice) any faith.
4.Freedom of Petition: The First Amendment says that people have the right to appeal to government in favor of or against policies that affect them or that they feel strongly about. This freedom includes the right to gather signatures in support of a cause and to lobby legislative bodies for or against legislation.
